This post makes.my.week, even though I'm late to seeing it!
Thanks so much, @aramvartian.com !! It was a pleasure to share and engage with you all. I'll be back at the end of Oct; hope to see you there!
I just had a amazing first experience at the Twin Cities Camera Club watching a presentation by guest speaker @bethbuelow.bsky.social.

Her work is excellent. I learned more about abstract and macro photography in an hour and a half than through any course or YouTube video.

Oof. I've been Bluesky negligent 🤦‍♀️ Here's some eye candy to bring me back into the fold. These are in-camera ME abstractions of Gordon Huether's 2020 art installation at Salt Lake City International Airport, "The Canyon."

I can't resist sharing this pic I took last night of my sweet Gracie Belle. She is, of course, looking at me so intently because I'm holding a treat that she is eager to enjoy. Dogs are balm for the soul 🤎🤎🤎

The delightful Sara Kushner joins me for this week's Pixels podcast episode for a chat about environmental self-portraiture. Her wisdom applies to both being in front of and behind the camera as she encourages us to take risks and stretch ourselves creatively.

Curvelicious

Photographed on an icy lake in Rocky Mtn NP. Those curves! 😍 And bonus: just feet from where I took this, I also experienced a new-to-me word: postholing. 😂

Heartbreaking. And what a creative and strangely beautiful way to call attention to a travesty.
Always be making photos.
Even when something makes you angry.

I find it therapeutic and energizing to take a break from photographing and spend time with ink, paper, and brushes. Alcohol inks are a new obsession. They're similar to ICM: abstract, unpredictable, versatile, addictive, FUN.

"Nearly everything awesome takes longer than you think. Get started and don't worry about the clock." - @jamesclear.bsky.social --> YES, esp. for creative endeavors. Awesomeness needs expansiveness, grace, patience, persistence, and trusting the process.
