The Senate HELP Committee is kicking off a hearing that claims to be about combatting antisemitism — it is not.

This is Trump’s cronies using the guise of caring about Jews to further its agenda of deporting student activists and instilling fear to silence political dissent. 🧵

Today, the Senate will hold a nomination hearing for far-right, extremist, ultraconservative Mike Huckabee to become US ambassador to Israel.

Plainclothes government agents took a student from his home because of his political speech, in front of his 8 month pregnant wife. Now he is being held in an unknown location and his lawyers cannot reach him.

UPDATE—Mahmoud's attorney says they do NOT know where he is.
They were first told he was sent to an ICE facility in Elizabeth, NJ. But when his 8-month-pregnant wife tried to visit him, she was told he's not there.
They've received reports he may be sent as far away as Louisiana.

The Senate Judiciary Committee just gaveled in for a hearing they claim is about antisemitism. It is not.

The GOP does not care about Jewish safety. This is political theater intending to dismantle the Palestinian rights movement, universities, and civil liberties.

–Endorsed taking Gaza
–Sanctioned International Criminal Court for pursuing Israeli leaders
–Approved $7.41 billion arms deal to Israel, as it violates ceasefire
–Admitted "a civilization has been wiped out in Gaza"

Israel is ramping up its violent expulsion of Palestinians from the West Bank, forcing 40,000 people from their homes in weeks.

This is not just an escalation—it’s part of Israel’s decades-long effort to push Palestinians off their land.
