Donald Trump is gunning for the BBC, and Farage is cheering him on. Want to know why? Follow the money…

Then why suddenly implement nazi style policy?

Why not just debunk the racist lies?
The UK isn’t a “soft touch” on asylum.

UK asylum seeker benefits are similar to European neighbours

No right to work before 12 months (it’s 6 months in France, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands)

UK settlement after 5 years (it’s 3 or 4 in Germany)

Let’s cut out the alarmist rhetoric.

Heading into a week where we give our first live performance of #AChristmasCarol at #LeedsPlayhouse in front of 850 people. 😮
A bit nervy, a bit exciting!
It’s easy to forget, as a performer, that every single person out there in the audience is willing you to succeed.

Afternoon all, went to the pool today with the intent of only doing a short distance but I felt so good I decided to thrash out 1100m.

I'm getting closer and closer to the finish and I feel great.

Such lovely people these flag shaggers are.

Flags belong on Public Buildings and international venues.

Not Johnny Seigheil's nearest telegraph pole.

This isn't America we don't need every fucking thing draped in a Union Jack.
This is exactly what the far right such as Farage want, people to be intimidated & bullied

These flags are put up without permission, are sinister, weathered & are being used for racist causes so should be taken down

Our England or Union Jack flags are supposed to represent inclusion & diversity
Workers face 'unacceptable' abuse for removing flags - BBC News
Several councils say workers have been verbally abused in the street for taking the flags down.

Fucking right and all!

There's a lot wrong with the Beeb at the moment, but they mustn't back down on this.

Kick Trump's arse!

Green/Lib government 2029?

Yes plz
Donald Trump destroyed public service broadcasting in the US - it's little surprise Nigel Farage wants to do the same thing here.

Trump’s America, don’t let it become Farage’s Britain.

When Tommy Robinson is celebrating your policies it is time to take a long hard look in the mirror and then quit politics forever.
Not everyone is unhappy about the Government's descent into anti-refugee politics

If you're a Labour PM with a very weird advisor, whose advice is always "look, the people want Nazism and we have to give it to them," you're probably best binning that advisor sharpish and becoming an actual Labour PM.

I'm absolutely bloody sick of self-appointed "patriots" claiming to adore Britain while trying to destroy our national institutions – including, this week, our world-revered public broadcaster.

The ‘patriots’ who loathe Britain
They claim to love our country, but want to destroy all its institutions...

Not a half-baked gesture at all. Tidal has much better quality and pays artists four times as much as Spotify.
I just switched from Spotify to Tidal as a half-baked ethical gesture and maybe this is some sort of aural placebo effect but the difference in sound quality is startling, as though Spotify plays everything through a sock. Or am I just imagining this

Indeed. The BBC is in my view one of Britain‘s most important institutions. It is imperfect.
Everything is.
You destroy it at your peril.
If ever there was a time to rally around something very British, it is now.
Just an outsider‘s opinion.
So many social media patriots! Delighting in the hope that the president of a foreign nation might destroy a British institution that is envied around the world! 🇬🇧

And btw as I’ve written I’m not necessarily convinced BBC should survive in its current form. But I’m far more sure, partly because I’m an actual patriot, that its demise shouldn’t come at the hands of a foreign head of state.

I have yet to visit Korea (2026), but I am acutely aware that while they are streets ahead in infrastructure, technology and even skincare they are lagging behind when it comes to equality.

Of course they need to get with the times, the more exposed to western attitudes they are it'll come.
A good thread to read.
South Korea is one of the most sexist countries I have ever visited. But no one told me so before I left. Nobody in my relatives knows that Korea is something so different from Hallyu . That includes, of course, Kpop, food, video games and so on. I think that people who are obsessed with
