Once again, if you wrote a story in which the jetsetting corrupt FBI chief took a government plane to the "Boondoggle Ranch" an editor would tell you to get a different job, because you're not cut out for writing believable stories.

Interesting. Equipment in hyperscalers depreciates fast, faster than ordinary IT, as customers demand the latest and greatest for new hardware.
BURRY won’t let up — now arguing that Oracle and Meta are overstating earnings by understating depreciation:

“.. By 2028, $ORCL will overstate earnings 26.9%, $META by 20.8%, etc.”

It doesn't actually matter if Chuck Schumer votes for this or not.

If he can't keep his caucus unified to protect healthcare for over 10 million Americans, he should resign as leader.

Sad but true
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

💯 other great thing about it: you get off the train, cross the street and you are there. Oh and you can swim all year round even in winter in their pool.
My favourite hotel on earth (at least in Montreal). It is really a brutalist low rise motor hotel high a top of a concrete plinth. It remains gorgeous & perfect 60 years later. Heaven.

There’s a cottage industry of investors who monitor former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s disclosed stock trades, match her every move, and usually make a profit along the way.

That trend will now end in 2027.

It's not too surprising but it is still interesting to see how private data correlates with data from the BLS. Which is good since we are not getting data from BLS, but from sources like indeed.com www.nytimes.com/2025/11/07/b...

A couple weeks ago a friend was telling me about someone she knew who had been on maternity leave, and said she had taken "the full year." I said, "A whole year? Wow, what kind of fancy job does she have that gives her a YEAR of leave?" and my friend looked surprised & said, "... welcome to Canada?"

The cost of generating electricity may drop to zero but the cost of distributing electricity still has a way to go.
We are going to live in a world where the the marginal cost of electricity is very close to zero
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative
