I’m Julia of Ms. Julia’s Schoolia in Eau Claire Wi. Working tirelessly to get childcare funded and early childhood educators paid what we deserve! 90% of our brains are developed before we’re 5 years old. ❤️
Wisconsin’s recently passed state budget does not have what we need.

ICYMI: The cost of child care is too darn high.

The Legislature must do more than nothing in this biennial budget to support our state's child care providers and working families, or care for kids is only going to get more expensive and harder to find.

We'll be in a world of hurt.

Wisconsin Early Childhood Action Needed (WECAN) has been in Madison Wisconsin all week to fight for child care funding in the state budget.

We’ve been told there is a plan. We are still waiting to hear one that will work

Look what happens when we invest in children and their teachers!
NEW: Minnesota’s graduation rate just reached the highest level on record.

Two years ago, we made the single-largest investment in public schools in state history.

Today, we’re seeing the results.

youtube.com/shorts/7un4Z.... Senator Jeff Smith from Wisconsin Senate District 31 stopped by record his weekly address. This one is about child care (a new report shared that 25% of WI centers will close if this isn't funded). SO grateful for Senator Smith's office. They pay attention and show up!

Kids first! Family first! Invest in child care now!
400 people from all over Wisconsin gathered in Madison on a Wednesday (4/16) to demand that childcare gets the funding that children, families, and early childhood educators deserve.

Affordable childcare seemed like an impossible task. This is the simple way Vermont pulled it off

This is a skill we practice every day at Ms. Julia’s Schoolia! When we take a deep breath before responding, we play more harmoniously. This environment is incredible for brains to grow! By the time we are five years old, our brains are 90% developed. When we learn skills at this stage, they stick.

This week, I visited child care centers across our state to urge Republican lawmakers to invest in our Child Care Counts program to help lower child care costs, increase slots, and cut wait times for families.

It's 2025 the Year of the Kid. We have to get this done.

I had an opportunity to meet with @govevers.wisconsin.gov on Monday to talk about funding child care in Wisconsin’s budget. As the governor said, this year is different. Looking forward to getting this over the finish line! The youngest most quickly developing members of our community need this.

Childcare providers are the workforce for the workforce. We are essential. We earn about $13/hour in Wisconsin. When decision makers invest in childcare, providers like me can finally earn a living wage!
