I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be joining Purdue University as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Economics!

I feel very fortunate to be an academic and can't wait to teach, as well as continue conducting research at a place with such a rich history in Experimental Econ.

Started my new gig at Purdue University this week! Oh and I guess I moved to America.

I'm really sad that @gpioxford.bsky.social is shutting its doors soon.

A unique institute in how it motivated big research questions in phil, econ, and psych. I owe a lot of my academic journey to GPI!

Also, their econ pre-doc program was incredible. Constantly had great placements. #econsky

For those who teach Behavioral Econ, what textbook/s do you use?

📢 Working paper w/ @benleoecon.bsky.social, Johannes Lohse, and Oliver Hauser!

Some have proposed that you can get current generations to invest in the future by enabling future generations to give back.

We test this in an experiment with sequential "generations" of players.

🚨New WP🚨

Problem: Altruism alone isn't enough to sufficiently invest in future generations.

We find: Allowing for cooperation with both the previous generation (as well as the future generation) increases investment in future generations.

This is a great innovation. Important to create and extend discussions around important topics within econ.

I hope this becomes normalised and is adopted by other journals.
We are pleased to announce an experiment intended to stimulate academic discussion and exchange, centered on papers published in Econometrica 1/5

The New York Times painted a misleading picture. Less than 0.2 percent of US charity is ruthlessly optimized.

Thirteen years ago today, I donated a kidney to a stranger, starting a chain w/ 6 recipients. It felt like a great deal: with modest risks, I could give someone many more years of healthy life. Looking back, I'm glad I did it, but I understated both the risks and the benefits. 🧵

This is fantastic! I also like the following bit of transparency (used to establish priority of replications).

"You are encouraged (but not required) to pre-submit a brief abstract to the European Economic Review prior to conducting the study...."
@mdrouvelis.bsky.social and I co-edit a special section on experimental replications at European Economic Review. We are eagerly waiting for your replications of lab and online experiments. Please get in touch if you have any questions. #econsky
