Climbing obsessed but terrible at it
I really hate the phrase “a cost to the treasury”. It’s not a cost to the treasury. It’s a cost to all of us. I’m fine with paying my part to end the two child benefit cap and lift 450000 children out of poverty. “The treasury” can just do what it’s told.

Use the train, save the planet. Let’s make this the easiest and cheapest choice! Excellent to have clear arguments and the economic evidence for greater and more strategic investment in rail services.
Our latest report, supported by Trainline and the Foundation for Integrated Transport, shows how affordable and better connected rail services can drive regional growth.

Summary 👇🧵
Next stop, better rail: growing UK train travel
In this report, we detail recommendations to put UK rail travel on track as a driver of sustainable growth across the UK.

Poor Kemikaze to be the only leader rated as badly as Farage. Maybe she will be swapped out?
when writing about the rise of British populism it’s worth bearing in mind that voters still prefer Starmer to Farage…

….and even prefer Ed Davey to Farage

As someone losing my sight to a degenerative eye condition I am thrilled by the possibilities of brain implant chips. But would you trust a chip from Musk?

Elon Musk put a chip in this paralysed man’s brain. Now he can move things with his mind. Should we be amazed - or terrified?
An accident left Noland Arbaugh paralysed, but Musk’s Neuralink brain implant allows him to control computers with his thoughts. Is it a life-changing innovation that could help millions – or the star...

Yes!! The power of Joy. I think this is a forgotten part of workplace well-being
#DYK joy helps combat stress, boosts resiliance & connection.

When the work we do is big, important & sometimes scary it's important to look after ourselves.

My clients talk about the 'energy' I bring. I put all of this down to looking for moments of joy.

What joy have you expereinced lately?

Love the National Trust
The National Trust turns 130 this year! While celebrating our past, we're focused on the future.

This new strategy is our plan for the next decade, shaped by feedback from 70,000 partners, members, visitors, volunteers and staff asking, 'How can we serve you?'

Here it is: https://buff.ly/40upATu

Shame on META (“Migrants are no better than vomit” is allowed, according to the materials")
NEW: I've obtained internal Meta docs revealing an array of sample posts that are now allowed under new hate speech rules. Examples include calling children "trannies," “Jews are flat out greedier than Christians," and “immigrants are grubby, filthy pieces of shit”

Agree with this WEF article! Stories that highlight the benefits of environmental action in daily life are key. By focusing on cleaner air, vibrant green spaces, warmer homes, and affordable energy we can make net zero relatable and inspire action! 🌍💚

Signed but more because I love @hopenothate.org.uk and hate Elon. Would like to see a more specific action. What do you actually want government to do @hopenothate.org.uk ?
We cannot allow a hateful billionaire like Elon Musk to undermine our democracy.

Take action now 👇
❌ Elon Musk is amplifying far-right figures, spreading harmful disinformation, and meddling in UK politics. If we stay silent, he wins. But together, we can push back and demand stronger laws to protect our democracy.

£12.50 to buy an election? That’s what Musk’s $100m donation to Reform & Farage looks like if scaled to my wealth. For him, it’s pocket change—yet it could reshape democracy. Billionaires play, we pay. Only democratic states can stop them—no wonder Musk wants to tear them down.
