It will be fascinating to watch how effective Mamdani can be as mayor. I believe he is not all talk and no substance, but will he be able to bust up the system enough to make his impact felt for New Yorkers? I hope he can.
Mamdani: I have been told that this is the occasion to reset expectations, that I should use this opportunity to encourage the people of New York to ask for little and expect even less. I will do no such thing. The only expectation I seek to reset is that of small expectations.

I signed up for a 7 day trial of MUBI and I am USING it to say the least. Loads of festival films in their catalog that I’d not ever come across to watch. It’s $15 a month so I will not be signing up, but I’d recommend checking out their free trial and exploring if festival films are your thing.
