In our new paper in The Lancet Public Health, we find that nicotine pouch use is rising in Britain, driven largely by increases among young adults, particularly young men.

Use of nicotine pouches has risen substantially in Great Britain over the last five years, particularly among young men, with one in 13 (7.5%) men aged 16 to 24 now using them, according to a new study led by researchers at UCL.

New research from UCL shows nicotine pouch use has increased rapidly in Great Britain over the last five years, driven almost entirely by young people – especially young men. Now 1 in 13 men aged 16–24 use pouches. Findings highlight the need for age-of-sale and marketing regulation.
