I don't really know what all this pro- or anti- shipper crap is but it reminds me ofmthat gamergate nonsense. I like drawing and think other people should just draw what makes them happy... or even what makes them upset if they feel like it. Fuck, it's ART! Anyways, here's one of my OG ships that's definitely canon. Definitely. Canon. Gargoyles character Fox taking a morning coffee break that Owen probably just prepared for the married couple and kindly asked him to take care of some transmission issues her ride seemed to be having. Put bluntly: Owen taking Xanatos from behind over his own desk, holding him down by the back of his head, while Fox has an appreciative hand on his shoulder. Maybe tmi but fuck it, you're up in my ALT text, I went through a weird depression sometime during and after the pani where I became Asexual for a bit. Fine for some people but it was not for me. I mean one could argue therapy also helped but seeing old men getting cute af definitely was a major factor to getting back in action. Seriously, watch this show. It's pure fucking magic. Ah fuck it I can't remember. All I know is if you aren't careful with shading your colors can shift and things just look off. I had to dial back my dynamic lighting in this cause of it. Planning to practice by doing that thing where you work in grayscale and THEN add your colors cause thats supposed to help? Idk, I've always been a bit shit with color. Not sure why, I'm not colorblind... I'm just dumb I think. I also have been obsessing over Jayvik. There's just something so poetic about a company trying to queerbait people while also appeasing their very queer-oppressed fan base (China) and almost the entire art and fic community being like "nah... this is OUR bait now." And now Jayce and Viktor have basically transcended to being TERMS instead of just characters. Like you call your character Jayce or Viktor and not only does everyone just know the archetype belonging to that name but they're also destined to be together "IN EVERY UNIVERSE!(tm)" AND are one of the top terms on AO3! Aaaanyways, here's Arcane characters Jayce giving Viktor a good old mating press. Colors and background are based on a Masson's Trichrome stain. Histology... that thing that no one knows what it is but without us the entire medical world would collapse. Histologists also aren't unionized, which is a big reason I'm not one anymore because that shit is bullshit. I do miss the colors though. My favorite was the standard H&E because I especially love Eosin Y Phloxine B. Iykyk. All you need to know is I've seen colors as a histotech that people can usually only dream of. Purples so deep they look blacker than sitting in a closet in a dark room... like it's so dark it's pulling light into it. I've seen pinks so pink they somehow start to look orange... like they're on fire. Colors that meld together at a cellular level. So I made porn out of it. This is the universe that Jayce and Viktor fuck at a cellular level. Your welcome. Here's another Jayvik. I did a goofy doodle to see if the pose I made of another one of my histology pieces was actually possible from an angle where they could be seen better and I just started messing around by just shuffling the black around to render it without even really using references and kept going until I was 5am and too late to stop. So when I was a kid, around high school, I think, I remember this friend and I went to visit those cliffs up in Duluth with a church group. Point of the trip was to wow over some tower that's up there. Friend and I were both sitting at the top of this pretty steep cliffside. My friend moved a little closer to the edge... I looked at her and then I moved even closer to the edge... then she moved with her legs over the edge and gave me an "oh yeah?" look... then I went down on the next outcrop... and then she went down to the next one.... and suddenly we were just climbing down this cliffside together. We got to the bottom, looked up and figured we couldn't get back up AND didn't even really have any idea where we were or how to get back. Luckily there was a freeway nearby and luckily the first person to come along was this nice lady in a small car who knew were the entrance to the place was. We... uh... we got in some trouble when we got back... but um... So, yeah, then I colored it. Seemed to work out. Idk if the faces on Jayce or Viktor turned out looking like their Arcane selves, but... idk it was fun in a "driven by the madness that lies between dreams and reality" sort of way. I still have urges to "fix" things in it, or figure out some sort of background to give them, but... sometimes, the voices from beyond the veil need to take a backseat so you can work on other things.

Discord is already starting to walk things back a little, so people should keep doing what they're doing (cancel Nitro, leave feedback/criticism, direct contact through support tickets/phone/email/etc)
Tl;dr: The vast majority of adults will never have to interact with our age assurance systems and their experience won't change, because we know Discord and how people use it, so we're designing to respect privacy and deliver a safer experience while minimizing friction for adults. Hey folks – I’ve been on Discord since very early 2016 and actually joined the company in 2017. Safety is one of my areas, so today’s announcement on our blog is something I’ve been pretty involved with. I’ve always cared about Discord's approach to privacy (E2EE for A/V was another of my projects here), so I figured I’d add some more context to today's news. I can say confidently that the vast majority of people will never see age verification. I say this because we launched age assurance in the UK and Australia in 2025, and we have some pretty good data on this now. The idea here is that we can pre-identify most adults based on what we already know (not including your messages!), and that looks to get us pretty far here. No face scans, no IDs, for the vast majority of adults. And if you are one of the smaller subset of folks that we can't definitively pre-identify, then still, you only have to do it if you're accessing age-restricted servers or channels, or changing certain settings. That's really not most users. (Altho... might be more Redditors, tbh.) Last, I know that there is concern about privacy and data leaks. That's a real concern. The selfie system is built purely client-side, it never leaves your device, and we did that intentionally. That'll work for a bunch of users who aren't pre-identified as adults. But if you do end up in the ID bucket, then yeah, you're right that has some risk. We're doing what we can to minimize this by working with our range of partners (who are different partners than the data leak you read about), and if it's any help, we learned a lot internally from the last issue. But I get if that doesn't necessarily inspire more confidence. Anyway, we’ll be sharing more next month as we get closer to the global roll out about the system, including the technology behind it in March. I honestly wouldn't be happy if we didn't build something good and I am excited about what we’re launching, but please let us know what you think when we share more details. And I really appreciate everybody's feedback here today. We’re definitely reading it!
