One of the highlights of my year in Edinburgh is the @lighthousebks.bsky.social Radical Bookfair, it's such a fab event centering community care, and this year comrades from @edinmaskbloc.bsky.social provided 1500+ masks to attendees! 🥳 As usual I completely blew my budget, here's my book haul 📚

If you don't know where to get masks or can't afford them, find a mask bloc at maskblog.org - you might have one locally or find one that can post masks. We do it and are always excited to help you protect yourself and others! Email us if you're interested

Sometimes when people ask me why I’m wearing a mask I say I’m traveling or have some important thing soon and can’t afford to get sick and miss it and that’s pretty much always true but I think it would be nice if it were more normalized to just say “I don’t want to get sick” and leave it at that

Lesbians support our trans sisters.
Sigrid: “I’ve been a feminist for 50 years – and in that time I’ve seen lesbians and feminists change the world. Change means reaching out to others who are oppressed – people of colour, working-class people, queer people, trans people."

Read my two letters to the #UK:
1. Protests: I call for a review of the legal framework and the reconsideration of provisions in the Crime & Policing Bill that could restrict freedom of assembly.
2. Trans people: I warn against exclusion&zero-sum approaches

Instead of integrating pointless AI tools into all their software, maybe Microsoft could make it possible to save changes to a Word document while working on a second Word document instead of freezing my whole laptop for daring to multitask in the advanced year of 2025.

🏳️‍⚧️ Every UK GIC's waiting list times, based on painstaking FOIs and research, are now available as part of our new investigation.

Most Trans+ people in the UK will wait more than a third of their adult life, and some will never receive care. Understand why:

Covid has never gone away, and it's not just a cold. My infection in 2022 left me permanently disabled after previously being fit and healthy. Get boosted, and wear a mask in busy public spaces, especially public transport and hospitals. Not sure where to find a mask? Ask @edinmaskbloc.bsky.social!
After a long pause, I've just done another England Covid & NHS update as we head into the autumn/winter season.

TLDR: we're in a significant Covid wave now, the NHS is stretched, get boosted if you're eligible.
