Publishers are already seeing unprecedented quantities of AI slop and unethical AI use by authors and reviewers, and it's terrifying that tools like this will open the floodgates further. Gen AI is a plague and I wish it a swift death.

Clogging the scientific publishing pipeline has never been easier.
It took me 54 seconds to write up an experiment I did not actually conduct.

The impact that this will have (that @raphaelwimmer.bsky.social rightly criticizes) is intentional; they are trying to poison science. They are trying to undermine critical thought, truth, creativity - basically everything of value in human society.

It is an epistemological and cognitive plague. ⚗️🧪

There’s just no subtlety or smarts to transphobic thought and its a mistake to assign it any. Its a very base and banal thing. Just the manifestation of belief in the base structures of patriarchal heterosexual society and that people should know their place in it

This collection brings together a selection of outstanding reviews, perspectives, papers and communications, which collectively provide a panoramic view of the field’s current vitality. The works range from recycling of polymer wastes, substitution of polymer carbon with oxygen (or sulfur), utilization of biomass to replace petroleum-based polluting polymers, copolymerization of CO₂ with other monomers, and converting polymers (either natural or synthetic ones) into platform chemicals.

We're seeing a large surge in flu cases across the UK, with masks barely mentioned as a mitigation, when they are one of the most reliable tools of mitigating spread. Email us to get free high quality masks - illness is not inevitable!
Unprecedented flu wave in the UK - stay safe & mask up. Stats showing influenza cases in Scotland rising from 845 two weeks ago to 1.759 last week. Flu cases have been spiking a month earlier than most winters, and there is currently no peak in sight. Wearing a well-fitting mask reduces risk of infection and spread of all airborne illness: Flu, RSV, Covid-19 and more. Message us to get FREE MASKS. Layer your protections: Wearing a mask where you can, especially in high-risk environments such as hospitals, but also public transport and busy public spaces, protects everyone. FFP2 masks give the most protection, as surgical masks often have gaps on the sides for viral particles to enter and exit. Get a flu vaccine if you can. It takes 2 weeks for antibodies to build, and flu vaccine effectiveness is around 30-60%, depending on age group. As an airborne disease, washing hands has limited impact on influenza spread. Opening windows and keeping fresh air moving can help reduce lingering viral particles. Staying home and resting when ill is important to protect others and to encourage full recovery.

Considering Streeting's well stated belief autism, ADHD etc, along with mental health issues, are "overdiagnosed", I won't hold my breath for this doing anything other than being used to cut support, along with opportunities for diagnosis, for people who need it. #r4today
