Publishers are already seeing unprecedented quantities of AI slop and unethical AI use by authors and reviewers, and it's terrifying that tools like this will open the floodgates further. Gen AI is a plague and I wish it a swift death.
OpenAI just released Prism, a LaTeX editor with embedded ChatGPT for free.
Writing a paper has never been easier.
Clogging the scientific publishing pipeline has never been easier.
It took me 54 seconds to write up an experiment I did not actually conduct.

The impact that this will have (that @raphaelwimmer.bsky.social rightly criticizes) is intentional; they are trying to poison science. They are trying to undermine critical thought, truth, creativity - basically everything of value in human society.

It is an epistemological and cognitive plague. ⚗️🧪

Ultimately the crackdown on transness has never been about trans people its never been about us. Its the struggle between the firm hand of heteronormative patriarchy and the freedom of feminism, bodily autonomy, reproductive rights. We are just the border where that war is fought
There’s just no subtlety or smarts to transphobic thought and its a mistake to assign it any. Its a very base and banal thing. Just the manifestation of belief in the base structures of patriarchal heterosexual society and that people should know their place in it

Sounds like a non-issue being spun to stoke hate against a minority by bad faith 'feminists'.

It is tiring to hear the current flu wave be described as a "super flu". No, this is what the flu is like, it is a severe illness!
Every year, the media calls disease outbreaks "exceptional" and "unprecedented", contributing to complacency & panic cycles rather than improving baseline prevention

Absolute ghoul Wes Streeting isn't content just harming trans people, he's found a new marginalised group who struggle to access life saving healthcare whose lives he wants to make miserable! AND he's employing pseudo-scientist Simon Wessely, whose PACE trial harmed thousands of people with ME/CFS.
Considering Streeting's well stated belief autism, ADHD etc, along with mental health issues, are "overdiagnosed", I won't hold my breath for this doing anything other than being used to cut support, along with opportunities for diagnosis, for people who need it. #r4today

part of the reason for the rise of reform is labour trying to appeal to their supporters by aping their arguments and policies. all labour votes reward this strategy, your labour vote says "yes, i love racism, more racism please"
don't give labour a single vote under any circumstances
