what kind of special freak are you if you write the entirety of said book just for yourself
Monthly reminder: Many people have a book in them, but it takes a special kind of freak to leave the Land of Laziness, cross the Plains of Procrastination and Insecurity Mountain, find the Blade of No One Made You Do This, and use it to cut your chest open and yank that book out.

Small, local news stations that serve rural areas will be seriously affected by CPB closures.

Some stations, like KCUW in Pendleton, Oregon, KUHB in St. Paul, Alaska, and WVLS in Monterey, Virginia, rely on CPB for 90% of their funding, according to Axios.https://trib.al/qWwG899

I'm deeply grateful to those who have shared their stories for The Human Toll project. These stories capture the deep sense of fear, loss, helplessness, disappointment, and anger that people are experiencing in the wake of recent changes in the US. But they also offer reason for hope.

If you treat the First Amendment like it only applies to you, the Second Amendment like it’s a personality, and the Fourteenth like it’s a typo, I don’t want to hear about how you’re a “constitutionalist.”

This is huge! A human rights tribunal found that employers must accommodate remote work for immunocompromised employees

Remote work accommodations are something disabled people have needed for decades

Covid showed us it’s possible, but ableism & discrimination took it away

We all need this right
Employer required to accommodate immunocompromised employees during communicable disease outbreaks
Measles outbreaks raise issue of accommodation similar to COVID-19

"I don't know anyone with Long Covid"
"It's a liberal disease"
"It's the vaccine"

We've all heard the excuses. The truth is more than 400 million people are suffering from Long Covid, and the stigma and denial associated with the condition makes it hard for people to realize they have it:
I Don't Know Anyone With Long Covid
Yes. You do. It might even be you. Let's take a look at why people don't realize, or can't admit, that they're dealing with Long Covid.

The Department of Homeland Security sent a letter to Dr. Lisa Anderson, who was born in Connecticut, which stated:

“It is time for you to leave the United States."

Anderson has been carrying her U.S. passport on her at all times since receiving the email and is seeking an immigration attorney.

No one should have to choose between care & Covid.

The politicization of masks has led to a reduced infection control in healthcare settings.

Patients are labelled anxious, difficult or worse for asking staff to wear a mask.

We need mandatory masking in healthcare:
We Need Mandatory Masking in Healthcare, and We Need it Now
Healthcare facilities should set the tone when it comes to masking. They should help patients protect themselves from Covid and other threats. Instead they push droplet dogma and put lives at risk.

I can’t get over how cartoonishly evil this is

putting in your fucking “hate speech” policy that a particular kind of hate speech against a particular group of people is explicitly allowed - and therefore encouraged - is the kind of shit that should be done from a volcano lair with a shark moat
Meta literally created a LGBTQ exception for calling someone mentally ill as an insult. You can't do it for any other group except LGBTQ people.
