FACT: California sends $83 billion more to the federal government than we get back.

Trump can talk down on California all he wants, but California pays his bills.

#SCOTUS is likely to do the right thing in the Lisa Cook case.

But it's worth bearing in mind that this idea that the Fed is some bespoke exception to the unitary executive theory is utterly incoherent as a matter of both law and history—and is really just proof that the UET is itself bollocks:
153. Living by the Ipse Dixit
A constitutional principle like the "unitary executive theory" isn't worth all that much if the Supreme Court can conjure new, unprincipled exceptions to it by simply asserting that they exist.

For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.

The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.
Opinion | I'm a Minneapolis sociologist who studies violence. Here's how ICE observers are helping.
Research into how violence occurs shows that disapproval from the people around you can help reduce it.

Gift link to FBI-targeted Post reporter Hannah Natanson's sweeping look at how federal workers have been targeted by Trump. wapo.st/49BQBrh
I am The Post’s ‘federal government whisperer.’ It’s been brutal.
One reporter’s effort to show how Trump was transforming government brought her 1,168 new sources — and nearly broke her.

The Alt National Park Service has spent months stealing from journalists, directly plagiarizing the work of others more than a hundred times.

With more than 4.3 million followers on Facebook and nearly 900k here on Bluesky, they've built a massive following on theft.

Three years ago today, Trump's far-right Supreme Court majority ended Americans' federal right to abortion under Roe v. Wade.

Since then, over 100 women have been denied emergency abortion care. Amber Nicole Thurman, 28, was one of them. Today, share her story.

Been saying something to this effect for a couple of months now. "There’s nothing Trump can do to bend global financial markets to his will."

As one institution after another caves to Trump, one important check remains: There’s nothing Trump can do to bend global financial markets to his will. That's a major political opportunity.
