This ruling is utterly terrifying and has no basis in law, medicine or science.
Alabama’s Assault on IVF Is Even Worse Than It Sounds
Friday’s ruling involves an Alabama law called the Wrongful Death of a Minor Act, though its implications stretch far beyond this one statute.

This is the same organization that authored Project 2025 which also calls for criminalizing all porn (after, of course, declaring any public reference to queer and trans people as "porn")
When they’re right, they’re right, I completely agree that conservatives should make “ending recreational sex” their central issue

Brilliant editorial:
"That golden thread is the erosion of the wall between church and state. Time and again we have seen the rights of Iowans under assault, and the origins of these assaults are consistently backed, supported and framed in strictly religious terms by religious organizations."

Welcome to Iowa.*

*as long as you are Christian, CIS Gendered, and White.

This is a great podcast. To get at even more of this origin story I highly recommend reading Jesus and John Wayne by Kristen Kobes Du Mez. It was infuriating, and insightful. It was ever present in my early faith journey. Fortunately I see it for what it is now...
It's utterly remarkable how Trump's support among white evangelicals has held so strong amid insurrection, criminal charges, and a damning sexual assault verdict.

On today's pod we dug deep into why. Fascinating stuff from scholar @sarahposner.bsky.social.
