Abysmal.
This is the attitude behind bills like 5 and C-5: complete disregard for Indigenous people. Not even pretending to care about consultation. Openly racist messaging.

Even just signalling that we "might" support this is a major red flag, especially in light of Monday's announcement re: immediately and massively increasing military spending (allegedly in part to reduce US military ties and reliance) to meet NATO's 2% target 5 yrs ahead of plan.
Carney promised a ‘new relationship’ with the U.S.—but now says he’d back Trump’s reckless 'Golden Dome'.

His reversal reflects a long-standing push from Canada’s corporate lobby for deeper military integration with the U.S., @nikbarryshaw.bsky.social writes. breachmedia.ca/trumps-golde...

New Democrats believe Canada must assert an independent foreign and defence policy, one that reflects Canadian values and priorities. That means explicitly rejecting Canadian participation in Trump's Golden Dome. Today we're calling on PM Carney to do exactly that.

My employment law textbook throwing it back to 2018 when the Ontario PCs, immediately after getting elected, reversed new legislation that ensured part-time workers' hourly pay would match that of full-time workers doing the same job 🙃 Really set the tone for the next 7 years.

Gunning down people you are choosing to starve as they desperately seek food for their families shocks the conscience.

States should urgently act, including imposing sanctions and an arms embargo, to press Israel to stop exterminating Palestinians.

After deliberately blocking humanitarian assistance from entering Gaza for 78 days, Israel has begun allowing in a “basic amount” of aid.

Israeli authorities’ blockade and use of starvation of civilians as a weapon of war amounts to war crimes and acts of genocide.

This is delayed, but I got a shoutout on Canadland! I don't always agree with Jesse Brown but I really appreciate his willingness to hear from listeners.

Worked as a DRO on election day and it was
1) a very cool experience
2) fascinating
3) an ABSURD amount of paperwork. A concerning amount. SO inefficient, and, I would argue, leaves more room for error*

*FYI I balanced perfectly 😎

What are we waiting for? Let’s end first-past-the-post now!

Great episode from The Current. Truly a wild media landscape, and it'll just keep getting wilder, to the detriment of democracy (& public safety, health, the social fabric...)

The amount of actual, genuinely antisemitic people in the US who will never be penalized in any way are being emboldened in this moment (so are anti-Muslim, anti-Arab hate groups). So don't mistake this as action against antisemitism. This is racist fear mongering and everyone loses.
