When the book by historian Elizabeth Cox, Making Space: A History of New Zealand Women in Architecture was published, there were only nine women listed in the Wikipedia category for New Zealand women architects – a number quite at odds with the more than 500 women named in the book.

As Aotearoa New Zealand gears up for its second COVID inquiry, it’s crucial everyone watches this clip. Yes, it was tough having closed borders & strict lockdowns, but I’m not sure if people fully understand the scale of devastation we avoided by acting as we did. Listen to this doctor explain.
Prof Kevin Fong giving the most devastating and moving testimony to the Covid Inquiry of visiting hospital intensive care units at the height of the second wave in late Dec 2020.

The unimaginable scale of death, the trauma, the loss of hope. Please watch this 2min clip.

Is this the grimmest classified ad you've ever seen?
Advert from a woman living in 'slum street' in Wellington, in 1889.

Have you caught with the beautiful new concept of BookHub? It gives you access to the inventory of independent bookstores across NZ, and you can order your books from whichever one you want to support. Lovely. Support local bookshops!
And it even has my book in it... tinyurl.com/39xehdb3
