Insane thing to tell a gay man that a straight person has a better understanding of homophobia than the person who actually experiences it.
November 20, 2025 at 9:36 PM
One time I told a straight friend this kind of meme was homophobic and he said “no it’s not” and I had to blink and go, oh, okay.
I hate this sort of meme.

“The only difference between the parties is whether the power to destroy human civilization rests in the hands of leaders who think gays, women, and black people should have their rights acknowledged.”

Even if true, how is Rainbow B-52 not infinitely preferable?

No one involved in this is interesting enough on their own to merit coverage but by sheer force of will have made themselves so Messy that I cannot help watching.

*bravely* I have found Olivia Nuzzi annoying and overrated for over a decade.

This has been a helpful point of contrast for the commentariat to observe but then again they watched Brexit’s surprise victory in 2016, said “That’s weird!” and never had a second thought about it again.
matt yglesias' primary claim about politics is that to win elections, democrats should adopt the strategy which has given starmer a 13% approval rating in the UK

Most cursèd thing I saw at Disney World was a thin blue line Mickey Mouse shirt.

God really messed up making him a psychopathic politician and not a catty gay red carpet host.
In a gossipy post, President Trump comments on how quickly Congressman Thomas Massie remarried after his wife passed away.

Every gun should be forcibly confiscated and melted down to make statues of prominent lesbians.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Can’t get over a Millennial named “Bill.”
This guy! Born in 1988!! He's a year older than Taylor Swift!

Full offense to Jeanne Shaheen but this is the dumbest fucking thing I’ve ever heard.

I’m concerned about the patriotism of anyone who accepts a job from Donald Trump but I guess Sean and I are will just have to agree to disagree on that one.
Sean Duffy threatens "action" against air traffic controllers who didn't come to work during the shutdown: "I'm concerned about their patriotism."

Man was anybody on this website full of adults in their thirties paying attention to politics in 2010 or was I just weird.

Senator, respectfully, as a lifelong Democrat who has worked for the party in various capacities on and off over the last ten years, I am struggling to explain to anyone why they should vote for Democrats if 8 Senators get to override the desires of the remaining 40.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.
November 11, 2025 at 1:39 AM
lmao.
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now
November 10, 2025 at 6:21 PM
I was right and I should say it more often.
Some people exist simply to be pantsed over and over and over again while dumbly wondering why people keep pantsing them. Unfortunately they are all serving as Democrats in the United States Senate.
good lord, dick durbin wants democrats to give up their only remaining leverage this year for an *informal commitment* from republicans. www.semafor.com/article/09/2...

I do not think a single Democratic voter in the United States just prays that Democrats would work more closely with Republicans.
Shaheen: "When I talk to my constituents in New Hampshire, you know what they say to me? They say, 'Why can't you all just work together to address the problems that are facing this country?'"

Hard to believe our caucus of 250 year old legislators who remember being chummy with Senator Confederate McDixie (R-Hell) would be a little bumblefucked in this moment.
November 10, 2025 at 1:38 AM
Nerd who keeps getting pantsed warns bullies doing the pantsing that they better not do that a SIXTH time, gosh darn it.
November 9, 2025 at 11:56 PM
I legit can’t tell if this is accurate—that 10 Dems will flip—or if it’s a warning to Republicans that there’s no incentive for Dems to flip now and their base would burn them alive.
I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.

It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.
November 9, 2025 at 10:09 PM
I think a lot of Senators love to anonymously say they’d vote this way or that way but when it comes time to put their name on a vote suddenly that never materializes.
does this sound like a deal that’s done or someone trying to pressure dems into one
