Anyone who has a pet knows that peaceful protest has the ability to influence those in power.

Mamdani: "I am in support of abolishing ICE. What we see is an entity that has no interest in fulfilling its stated reason to exist. We're seeing a government agency that is supposed to be enforcing some kind of immigration law, but instead what it's doing is terrorizing people."

Pew Research Institute (2023):

• Red State Texas has about 2.1 million undocumented immigrants

• Red State Florida has 1.6 M undocumented immigrants

• Blue State Minnesota has 130,000.

And yet only Minnesota is being occupied by masked thugs over "immigration."

It's *not* about immigration.

Living a moral life in an age of bullies requires collective action; it cannot be done alone. Each of us must organize and participate in a vast network of moral resistance. From this solidarity we will grow stronger. This is what our current moment requires.

I am pleased to announce that I have commandeered my neighbor's home. This home will be sold at its Market Price, and that money will be controlled by me, to ensure it is used to benefit my neighbor and me! Thank you for your attention to this matter!

What we're experiencing is the brutal class warfare of the uber wealthy against all of humanity.

Don't lose the thread amongst the chaos.

"Good for the economy" is only good for working class people when corporations treat people fairly and with dignity.

An economy of degradation is not one which deserves to be propped up.

Maybe instead of committing atrocities, we could just make the rich pay their fair share and have universal healthcare and affordable housing instead.

Idk, just spitballing here.

Why do the owners of properties and corporations get unimaginably rich through no productive effort of their own, while the working poor need to fight for food and healthcare?

It's not the welfare state which is propping up deadbeats who don't need to work for a living; it's the capitalist state.

My political hot take is that US voters should be able to recall elected representatives via petition - at any time.
No more hiding behind election terms.

A world ruled by AI is simpler only because it has hidden the complexities from our sight and removed them from our reach.

The simplest existence of all is one of powerlessness.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

The absolute failure of our federal government to meet the basic needs of our people is staring us in the face.

If ever there was a time for mass protest, it is now.

Our institutional and corporate leaders are failing us.

It's time to build up, support, and hold accountable our own community leaders.

Democracy may be gasping for breath, but we the people can breath fresh life into it. The moment demands this of us.

The average US taxpayer spends $36 a year on SNAP

You know what they spend on corporate subsidies? $670

Poor and disabled people who need food are not the problem

If you’re angry about “your money” feeding people but not angry it’s giving tax cuts to the wealthy?

You’re doing their dirty work.

Refusing to feed people while building a massive ballroom is a fast track to eat the rich. No pun intended.
