This is around the corner from my house and it's ridiculous that it was being held up by one person. It is clearly beneficial to the neighborhood and would have been even better with more units!
“It’s a travesty that one deep-pocketed opponent has been able to block access to housing for over 100 families in my neighborhood for years.

It’s more expensive than ever to rent or buy here, and this project would be a welcome change to its current use as a derelict warehouse.”
West Philly affordable housing project could finally advance, almost 6 years after it was proposed
A Cedar Park neighbor of a planned 104-unit affordable housing development lost a lawsuit that challenged the city's zoning change to facilitate the project.

AOC absolutely nails it through this whole clip.
AOC: And they are able to radicalize a generation of young boys in particular, away from healthy masculinity and into an insecure masculinity that requires the domination of others who are poorer, browner, darker, or a different gender than them.

Andre Blake catching the final corner over Matt Freese. Bloody Alejandro Bedoya at the final whistle. Happy Bradley Carnell. The most fitting end you can ask for.

And hoping for more of this in the #MLSCup playoffs.
The Philadelphia Union are, once again, Supporters' Shield champions after a 1-0 win against NYCFC.

The unlikeliest of champions — #DOOP did not make the playoffs last season, but new manager Bradley Carnell turned this team around.

66 points, ahead of Miami — and now done yet!

All the people being fired for telling the truth about Charlie Kirk—many of them women—in the aftermath of his death demonstrates that his legacy was never one about universal free speech.

It was only ever about about straight, white, conservative Christian men spouting bigotry without consequence.

Truly shocking that slashing government, pumping tarrifs, and pushing AI isn't yielding jobs 🤔
U.S. employers added nearly 1 million fewer jobs than originally reported for the year through March. It's the latest sign that the labor market may be weaker than it initially appeared.
Job Growth Revised Down by Nearly a Million, Updated BLS Data Shows
Preliminary annual revisions could add to political pressure on the agency that produces the data.

LIHEAP saves lives. It keeps the heat on for the most vulnerable residents in our country. I see the space heaters and ovens people heat their homes with when they can't keep the heat on, and I also see the impact of fires from those things. This is another horrific decision.

Good to see Dems finally focus on Musk. He's cartoonishly evil and unlikeable. Focus on Musk - it will be effective AND Trump will hate it
Elizabeth Warren: Not one Democrat voted for Elon Musk. Not one Republican voted for Elon Musk. Not one Independent voted for Elon Musk. Not one Libertarian voted for Elon Musk. Damn, not one vegetarian voted for Elon Musk.

And the other male corrolary to this is "I'm an expert in one area, so I must be an expert in all areas."
This is what I think of as a specific kind of ignorance that heavily affects young white guys who work in tech. It says “i don’t know about this, so I assume no one else does either.” It’s new to them, so it must be new to everybody!

Will someone just tell Republicans that Canada as a 51st state would add two Democratic Senators and more electoral votes than California? Then we can forget about all of this.

Elizabeth Warren says she thinks Trump's talk of taking over Greenland and the Panama Canal is a distraction from his terrible nominees like Hegseth and Gabbard and RFK Jr

Taking time to ask Trump about making Canada a state is just playing into his game of making everything crazy so we don't talk about the terrible things administration will actually do. Can we just ignore it? Ask him about cutting essential services to give permanent tax cuts to billionaires.

"It is deplorable to learn the 76ers and their billionaire owners think our communities are only worth $60 million over 30 years. They recently gave a single athlete $193 million over 30 years." What a juxtoposition.
Today @ruephilacouncil.bsky.social and I voted against legislation authorizing the proposed 76ers Arena. Barring major changes, we expect to oppose this legislation when it comes up for a final vote next week.

After all the drama, City Council only getting $10m more in the CBA then voting to approve is a colossal failure. Basically nothing they expressed concerns about were addressed and they're standing by while the mayor trades an arena for a $25 million slush fund for her projects.
