NHS cancer patients denied life-saving drugs due to Brexit costs, report finds
If there was only one reason why we should rejoin it’s this!! Labour need to grow a pair and start the process of reversing the damage. This is what a vote for reform gets you!!

Trump & Vance’s treatment of Zelenskyy was a snub to all of Europe.

And the pair of them can fuck right off.

I don’t want them having a single rare earth atom from European soil.

I don’t want their military bases.

I want Europe to throw everything into driving Russia off Ukrainian soil.

Fantastic morning RSPB GBW. First time for a female blackcap on our feeders. Lovely ginger red cap feasting away. Sad that only 2 starlings and no house sparrows though. Followed by Cardiff council rangers and RSPB event for kids in Velindre park. Fantastic seeing all the kids bird spotting. Diolch

Please share this important information. I know so many folks, for example people with cancer and their family members, who do not know this. Everyone should have the chance to know this.
Another reminder:

Respiratory infections spread mainly through the air. That’s why they affect the lungs.

Masks, worn correctly and consistently, reduce the spread of respiratory infections.

Respirators work better than masks.

Washing hands isn’t wrong, but it won’t stop airborne transmission.

You've probaly seen various headlines this year about bird flu and the potential for a new pandemic.

So I've written a new substack as a simple explainer on what a flu pandemic actually is, why bird flu and what's been going on over the last 3 years.

How close is a new bird flu (H5N1) pandemic?
Probably not around the corner but getting uncomfortably closer.

This is still true. It will remain true however high such individuals are promoted.
Just because a bunch of professors at Stanford say COVID’s no big deal doesn’t make it true. You know this. You know someone who’s died from covid. You know someone with long covid. You’ve probably had covid several times yourself. They are spreading misinformation because it fits their ideology.

Agree Sara. When will ambition turn into reality? 20 years of presenting the evidence and seems like wading through treacle!! Gotta keep wading though
Shifting care closer to home continues to be a worthy ambition. But to succeed where past efforts have failed, the new plan must go beyond ambitious rhetoric and be clear about what moving care out of hospital actually means, what it will achieve, and how. #RightToRehab

Beautiful piece which includes the tragedy of the author losing his own mother to cervical cancer. So sorry for your loss Kit, but as you say we can now *vaccinate* against this killer. 🧪 #medsky
A very personal story from me about why it makes sense to vaccinate boys as well as girls against Human Papillomavirus

"I was surprised to learn, in later life, that cervical cancer is one of the few cancers caused primarily by a virus – a cancer you can 'catch'".

Why it makes sense to vaccinate boys against HPV
In the light of more good news about declining rates of death from cervical cancer, why do we vaccinate boys against the virus that causes it?

Cerebral palsy should be reframed as “the most common lifelong physical disability,” instead of a childhood disorder, a professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation argues in a recent perspective article for the New England Journal of Medicine.
Why one expert says it’s time to redefine cerebral palsy
Focusing on early detection and prevention has skewed awareness of the permanent nature of the disability, a health expert writes.
