ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

“she hadn’t decided what to do. She says she felt like God was holding her hand. She breathed in, and Spanish came out.” 😭😭😭
Amazing piece.

This thread went off the rails. I'm genuinely perplexed. My point: some profs act like they’ve been assigned a side and must argue it like a competition. Remember, this entire charade started because of a *𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦* that “an entire literature” existed questioning birthright citizenship.
The anti-birthright citizenship element in the legal academy has all the hallmarks of a high school debate club and none of actual scholarship.

Dodge Aries (K car) no anti-lock brakes, no airbags, and an inexperienced 16 year old driver (me) zooming down back WI road at night, only to discover that a herd of black and white dairy cows were in the middle of the road and I missed one by inches going 55 😬
I saw a post complaining about the cost of cars given “terrible build quality an reliability” and it’s like what planet are y’all living on?!?? The typical car used to be a death trap that couldn’t get to 100k miles under any circumstance.

Sloppy research points to sloppy conclusions.
A small (personal) example of this book’s intellectual dishonesty:

My father-in-law is reading In Covid’s Wake, and excitedly told me he found a passage where I’m quoted. The quote in question is me saying the FBI worked to censor speech on social media.

Huh? When did I say that?!

“Golden Fleet”
We live in the dumbest timeline….
President Trump will announce on Monday a new type of large warship he is calling “battleships,” marking a step toward achieving the president’s vision for a new “Golden Fleet.”
Trump To Announce Navy Will Buy New ‘Battleship’
The new warship will be the latest in what the White House envisions as a “Golden Fleet.”

The US is not Denmark. Denmark is not the US. The Danish immunization schedule is not adapted for the realities of the American Healthcare system and population.
Let me explain.

We talk a lot about inequity in who gets credit. I feel an underexplored thing I see in software is also what is easily erased and forgotten. I guess I have been in this industry long enough to start to see people loudly and viciously argue a side and then entirely reverse it with no comment

One last thing:

If you truly feel small or invisible, just find a way to be kind or helpful to others. Maybe volunteer if you're at a con.

I won't spoil what will happen next ;p

Really love how this guy posted this on TikTok thinking the woman who broke his Meta glasses would come off as the villain, as opposed to him, the guy recording her without her consent for social media content via a surveillance device made by one of the worst companies on earth

I was a *Religious Studies* major; in my time she would have been rightly BBQ'd had she dared to hand in this absolute drek.

It’s the “take it to a casino and double up” line that really sells how ridiculous this all is…
