Loving the lengthy detour into Ted Leo on the new 60 songs by @harvilla.bsky.social

One of the best shows I saw in the 00s was Ted Leo @ Magic Stick in Detroit. It was coincidentally the same night that Malice at the Palace happened. Was wild to have that on the screens and Pharmacists on stage.

Listening to the new 60 songs - 2000s and there is, once again, a shared music experience to @harvilla.bsky.social

Today’s is a St. Andy’s shout out. Legit, one of my all-time favorite venues. In my record store employee era, I managed to catch the White Stripes and Weezer there. Glorious!

My 9yo has been working it into songs. Yes he’s been influenced by his xennial mom.

“open up my eager eyes, cause I’m chicken jock-kay,” or

“1-2-3-4 take the elevator cause the chicken jockeys coming up to getcha”

No popcorn was thrown in the making of this post.
if anyone throws shit at the screen during the “chicken jockey” scene that’s not one of mine

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

On a rewatch of The Good Place, I recently noticed this quote by Michael.

I think there is no fundamental difference between The Good Place Committee and Democratic leadership at this point.

Good morning friends🦋Today’s tip: Each Other. We need to stand up for each other whether it is here or in public. If you see something, help, especially in public. The minute we stay silent we lose all. We are stronger together. Believe what you see and don’t let anyone tell you different 🦋🐾🦋🐾

I felt so many emotions in the last 40 seconds of that MSU game. And I don’t want to watch anything else for the rest of the night. #gogreen

I'm looking to see if the cuts & chaos at CDC and NIH have affected any clinical trials or research for drugs for the treatment of cancer, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, or other serious diseases. If you know anything, please contact me at DavidCorn.99 at Signal.

Or if you have any other good stories.

Ok #Severance fans. Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald?!

I have theories:
• Outie
• Unintentional breakthrough
• Another reintegrated
• They heard this song in wellness or as a big reward. Because it was the only outie music they ever heard, they committed the melody to memory, forever changed.

“…before I did the show, Dan Erickson wrote me a whole backstory — where I came from and why I did what I did. Whether you’re playing your Innie or your Outie, there are things that bleed through…”

Fun fact I learned from @celebitchy.bsky.social today: Kendrick’s (effing amazing) jeans are by Celine and are sold out.

Fun fact I learned Sunday: that halftime show will live in my brain for the remainder of my lifetime. It was a masterpiece for the moment it was in.
The Usher halftime show came and went...
Rih announced a pregnancy during hers and it lasted one business day...

We on Day 5 of heated discussion abt Kendrick's halftime show.

5.
Whole.
Days.
And.
Counting.

...but I'm supposed to believe it was trash.

I’m listening to the 60 Songs/Bandsplain soundtrack draft. Categories are 70s, 80s, 90s, 21st century and concert video. I’m paused on the episode to make my picks so I can be delighted if I align with @harvilla.bsky.social at all.

70s: Rocky Horror
80s: Purple Rain
90s: Romeo + Juliet
