Orlando City getting a potential fee worth north of $7m + sell-on clause is big. Orlando offered U-22 initiative contract extensions... but Alex Freeman was ready for Europe.

I'm told Freeman is happy his boyhood club gets a fee as well and not a free transfer.

Good for all.
💣🇺🇸 BREAKING: Villarreal has agreed to a deal to sign USMNT right back Alex Freeman from Orlando City, per sources.

Deal worth north of $4m plus another $3m in add-ons + sell-on clause.

Freeman was set to leave for free when contract expired end of year. www.nytimes.com/athletic/700...

FBRef was not only a brilliant resource generally, it made so much WoSo data available that couldn’t be found elsewhere. Absolutely gutting for fans, data nerds, and those of us who feel these things shouldn’t merely be the preserve of people with lots of money

“Well, I had 3 in 3 and then I broke my ankle”

Wessam Abou Ali was supposed to tear up MLS with Columbus Crew, but injury got in the way.

Yet it’s a new season, with a new manager, and maybe a new Wes.

On recovery, late night gaming sessions, and golden boot talk

The Danish-born Palestinian international made a real impact before suffering a devastating ankle injury last October. Fit and firing again - he's out to prove that his strong run was no fluke.

Good time to revisit this video with him taking the job at West Brom!
My favorite coach to watch this season has been Eric Ramsay

-Why did he choose MLS?
-How has Minnesota set up this season?
-How do they create chances?
-How has he adapted to bad results?

Big thanks to @americansocceranalysis.com for the data to let me do these again!

Updated news story: Eric Ramsay is leaving #MNUFC for the West Bromwich Albion job, the @pioneerpress.bsky.social learned Thursday morning.

After two outstanding seasons with #Loons, the Welshman is headed home to a team in the English second division.

Recently added these.

MLS has HUGE home field advantage compared to other leagues, so opened that up as a filter option.

Also added an even game state only, to filter for minutes where the game is tied.

Wanted to do a Tifo inspired "sensible transfers" series for MLS, but found it impossible because of the lack of publicly available data from where MLS teams recruit from.

Perfect example. Neither I nor FBref knows anything about 'Brommapojkarna'. Was always a losing battle 😭
🇬🇭 Sources: Ezekiel Alladoh has completed his medical for the Philadelphia Union.

Alladoh, 20, will join the Union on a club-record deal worth around $4.5m from Brommapojkarna.

Big signing for the Union.

Trying this out as a way to get thoughts out that don't necessarily lend themselves to a video.

Was getting a bit frustrated watching people dismiss what I thought was a great game by simply writing off one team as playing "bad soccer".

It's the age-old question... San Diego has had like 80 percent of the possession, but #MNUFC has had four shots on target and has spaces to attack on the counter, while #SDFC has had no shots and no space.

So who is really controlling this game?
