Part two of same model. The real aircraft had two kill marks, one VPAF An-2 shot down early in the Vietnam War in 1966 (yellow star), while the black MiG-17 silhouette was corresponds to a confirmed kill in March 1972 by a different crew.

Czech MiG-23ML (№ 4644 & 2406) used to trial integration of the Matra R550 Magic 2. Trials took place bet5 March 28th and April 11th, 1994 at Mont de Marsan. No actual rounds were fired.

It looks like this North Korean MiG-23ML is equipped with PKVP-23 ventral pylon which has a built-in flare dispenser. Usually you only see these on MiG-23MLDs.

MiG-23ML or MiG-23MLA?
A pedantic🧵

I see a lot of people using the term "MiG-23MLA" when referring to the MiG-23ML equipped with Sapfir-23MLA radar. To be fair, I've also noticed a few former pilots/mechanics using this term to differentiate between the MiG-23ML/Sapfir-23ML & MiG-23ML/Sapfir-23MLA.
