This is so Portland specific but if you know, you know….
My dearest Alice:

I write to you from a city under siege. The horrors have become inescapable. We are surrounded on all sides by an enemy who has left no corner of this place untouched by its poison. I speak, of course, of our old foe: gratuitous punctuation in business names
what news from the front 🫡

Trump officials' showings at hearings today were disasters, but it doesn't make headlines bc the media's default assumption is that Rs are clownish rascals. But if Dems didn't know what was happening at their agencies or what habeas corpus is, it'd be front page news. This is a key media asymmetry.

This is an amazing eulogy. I loved Greyson from afar, and now reading this realized he is so much like my Izzy Dog (right down to being told she was a border collie mix when we adopted her - nope, she’s 120 pounds of a Grey Pyr mix). Godspeed, Greyson.

Not being able to talk to a real person at the Social Security Administration when you need help or your local office closing due to staffing cuts is a benefit cut—point blank.

Elon needs to get his hands OFF Social Security.

Repost if you agree.

Trump and Elon are destroying the Social Security Administration, and without staff & offices, there will be people who can’t get their benefits—period.

I put together a fact sheet about what Elon's decimation of Social Security will mean for YOU.

Please share it far and wide.

Highly recommend becoming a paid subscriber of Parker’s. I have learned so much from her writing on so many different topics. One of my go to voices when I find a news story hard to wrap my head around.
Still a bit short of my year-end goal. If you've been considering supporting my work, please become a paid subscriber. Now's as good a time as any.
I am 26 paid subscribers away from hitting my year-end goal. If you're interested in supporting my work, please consider becoming a paid subscriber to either my newsletter (www.readtpa.com) or my Patreon (patreon.com/parkermolloy). I publish the same thing at both places. Thanks!

If anyone here is (or knows someone who is) a huge fan of both LEGO and the legendary Seattle restaurant Canlis, I have something I’d like to mail you

I will protect and fight for all of my trans brothers and sisters. The ones in my life know they have a refuge in my home and my heart. I will never understand why so many people choose to hate a group of people who just want to live their lives in peace.
My guess is that a lot of trans people will be feeling a ton of stress and worry over SCOTUS today.

If you are a cis person, quote this and say why you support trans people and what you are willing to do to support us if the government comes for us.

Found out a friend was sexually assaulted yesterday. On a busy sidewalk near her office at 1pm. Seemingly normal man walked up to her and grabbed her crotch. She punched him, a group of people surrounded him, but he got away. She is Ok but shaken. I feel like this is a metaphor for the election.

Anyone still getting emails from Harris/Walz saying they need more money to turn out the vote? It’s super frustrating and painful….
