I was offered a free copy in exchange for an honest review. Sweet Music...such a fitting title! It was fun. Warm. Cozy in a way that made me want to read before I sleep so I can feel the book tuck me in for the night. I didn't want to rush through the story. I wanted to savor it like Reverie likes to savor everything in life. The story is unapologetically slow-paced and once I got to slow down and appreciate the words on the page, I must say I loved the experience. The world is fast-paced enough without a book to help(?) things speed up further and I really loved the opportunity to slow down and savor every word. To be honest, I kind of didn't want it to end(part of why it took so long for me to finish it, I usually read much more quickly) It's over now, but I spied the word "series" and I'm planning on clinging to that promise for dear life. Thank you for the experience, Dear Author. Thank you for Sweet Music.

I have big feelings about this so here is a thread:

I always considered myself to be Circassian AND a citizen of Turkey. I'm not a Turk but I'm Turkish because I'm of this country. My ancestors, having lost in a war years and years ago, came to the lands that were then called Ottoman Empire. 1/?

Recently realized I might technically be "white". As someone born and raised in Turkey, it never occurred to me that I might not be my ethnicity to the world around me. I'm Circassian, my ancestors were exiled to Ottoman Empire and I'm just, white? That feels like it erases a big part of who I am.

I did only three assignments in total yesterday and today but it feels like such a weight off my shoulders! I'm ready to do some freewriting now to warm up for my wip draft 💪 I need to finish a significant section of it by the end of June but I'm gonna try and spend these days in a productive way

We're having a prompt event over in @writersblockds.bsky.social discord server! This was my attempt at it. I don't write horror often so it was a nice change 🥰
Jack had never been the superstitious type of guy in the office, no, that was Jacob. Jack overworked too often for fanciful ideas. So, he simply groaned in defeat when a treefall cut off his road through the bumpy village road. And then he realized. It was dark, so dark that the few street lamps could barely peek through and Jack could hear music, a crackling, glitching children's lullaby, from somewhere in the void surrounding him. He sighed, rubbing his eyes as he complained into the nether, "Could we get this over with quickly? I need to sleep." The lullaby stopped for a few seconds and Jack heard an owl's hoot in the brief silence. "That's an interesting reaction, human," the singer commented with that same digital voice. "Well," they said and a child stepped out in front of the headlights. They tilted their head to the left, their body glitching in and out of existence as they giggled in a crunchy, light voice. "Let's see how long your calm lasts. Run."

Dear Reader, Our Piper loved the cloying scent of herbs and ointments almost as much as he loved the sharp, metallic scent of coins. You see, his intention was to save up enough coins that he would be able to live a comfortably lazy life once he retired. He told himself that he would finally stop wandering once he had enough money for a land to settle on. And clothes. He loved wearing new, fashionable numbers and he loved preening in the mirror up in his bedroom connected to his shrinkable shop. He would need enough coins to keep up his vanity in those long retirement years. So, for now, he smiled politely after his customer as she left with a can of ointments in her satchel, making the bell above the shop’s door ring. The noise of pedestrians drifted in with the bell, as did the damp morning, for mere seconds before he was separated from the world outside once again. He picked the coins off the counter with a smile on his thin lips and in they went to the pouch at his waist. Now, some of you might think that a pouch, of all things, is much too small to hold anything of significance. To those people, Piper would say…well. He would most likely laugh and refuse to elaborate. Such a cheeky little snake.
