I agree. I completed my training in 2022, but I was burnt out and didn't get licensed until this year. Now, at that time I didn't know what self-care was for me. They just say self-care is important but don't go into what that means. It taking care of your basic needs.

I find it fascinating how counseling programs preach self-care yet have you do a 20-30 hr a week internship (no pay) while also making you read multiple chapters and turn in assignments, and most of us have full-time jobs and families.
