Here’s a problem with going back in time to the 30s to impede Nazi war efforts, I don’t speak German. That’ll make me stand out in a time of rampant nationalism.

WW II was horrible. Churchill’s temporal secretary has asked me to give him an advantage by telling him how Germany is re-arming itself. Instead of doing that, why don’t I go and impede the Nazi’s war efforts myself?

I can take general news back to Churchill’s temporal secretary, but what’s the point? It will just be like hearsay. Or worse, I'll be Cassandra for last years of the Empire.

I’ve been reading about the start of WW II to help prepare Churchill’s team. There is so much information to absorb, and some conflicting theories. I decide to just bring the books back to 1933 and let the temporal secretary sort it out.

Tasked with returning to 1933 to tell Churchill’s temporal secretary what happens next. He wants to prepare. But what to tell him? The whole war? The first important part about the Battle of Britain? Dunkirk? The awful lengths that the war went to?

I was sent to Churchill’s fifth private secretary, most people know he had four, this one was known as the temporary secretary. Nobody understood his actual job as the temporal secretary.

To find answers I decided to go back to the roots of my time courier experience. The Brook’s in London which I first visited in 1837. This time I visit in 1933, the year Hitler became Chancellor. I need to learn more about Nazis and the risks of time travel.

A while ago my ideas on time travel were confronted by a distinguished gentleman on the tube. I was so shocked by his perspective I didn’t think about the important question. How did he find me?

At first I didn’t think my mild interferences in 1837 made a difference. It was so long ago (I probably have a bias to my present) but WW II is much closer to me. What were the Nazis doing? Especially near the end of the war. Wernher von Braun seemed ahead of the time.

I think of myself as an independent contract time traveller. Recently I’ve been working for the Victorian Empire. I thought of my time courier work as a harmless way to make money. Now I learn that, in aggregate, the time couriers may be affecting the flow of history.

I've just been told not to help the Victorian Empire grow. I feel I'm only helping it become as great as our history shows. I responded, "My time travel can't change the fates."

Time is the friend of compound interest. I picked up my payment from Coutts today. 188 years produced a considerable sum, though not quite as much as I originally thought. There were 3 recessions before 1900, one of them lasted for 20 years!
Still, it’s enough to want to time courier again.
