A big problem I have with digital sovereignty and the moving away from BigTech or US tech is that it’s really not that easy to do when you have to organise with communities that are not tech focused and you have to find a common ground for various device types and OS old and new, but also habits.

I think one of the best artist social media accounts I found in 2025 is the makeup artist who does celebrity transformations and responds to hate comments by transforming herself into the profile pictures of the haters. The pettiness turned artistry in a very very tangible way, it’s perfect.
