“This is the averaging out, the displacement of the human being in time and at work, that A.I. tools impose…its derivative ethos seems to have permeated all forms of media. Everything must be easy to follow and to understand, simple enough to recognize and categorize.
The New Literalism Plaguing Today’s Biggest Movies

I had a dream that a film director was directing a child and his pet dog for some sort of commercial when a rapture happened, levitating all things on the film set that were good.

My son asked for a donut at the new bodega down the street and they reheated it, which melted all the chocolate frosting off on the wax paper. It was a streaming hot mess when they handed it to us.

I don’t think they eat donuts over there.

No mention of the CDC shooting. No mention of burning down the PA governor's home. No mention the Colorado school shooter apparently expressed neo-Nazi views. They included Luigi as getting "leftist" support when his support was bipartisan b/c every american has been screwed by health insurance
Putting aside the researchers' inability to identify acts of state terrorism, the number they're using to justify this subhed is five.

If you look intently at the little window on a cassette while it’s playing, you will sometimes see a tiny demon in there, smiling, enjoying the music, but also clawing mischievously at the tape, causing noise and artefacts. That’s why they put the window there.

This writer captured Blippi perfectly: it takes place in a dead world full of big things and no people.

Except for the odd police car…

There's something particularly annoying about searching for a song you can't altogether remember, because modern search technology gets you so close to your answer. But if a popular song shares some of your search terms, it's just like "Are you sure it's not Cream?" Pretty sure, thanks Google.

I was thinking the other day about how I start each day with NYT games to prime my brain to think in words, when it occurred to me that the game Wordle is basically adult chewing gum. I am using these games to chew my way to fresh breath.
