The election result also means the debate about energy policy is now, in broad terms, over. Australia’s energy future is wind and solar, backed by storage.

Australia is set to be a renewables nation. There is no turning back now.

Australia is set to be a renewables nation. After Labor’s win, there’s no turning back
Under a Labor government, coal and gas have a fast-declining role to play in Australia’s energy mix – and nuclear has none at all.

What the Liberals do next is important to them & irrelevant to Australia. ALP has a big majority in the House, and with the Greens have a majority in the Senate. The Liberals are a minor party in waiting

It’s time to crack on and get big stuff done. My column

No, "Australia" is in not in "a cost-of-living nightmare".
For many, inflation is no biggie.

We're in a poverty and inequality nightmare.

If the media and political class only focus on the cost of things, and not structural problems, we'll never properly tax wealth.

So Labor will continue leading the country for a second term. The right was leading in the polls in 2024 and early 2025, when the lead reversed — in part due to Trump, just like in Canada.
