We Do Not Care Club

Exmo Edition

We do not care that you can show your shoulders now. You’re still letting a man dictate your underwear choices.

We do not care that you think the church is being forthright about their history now. Read the footnotes.

I’m so glad my grandma never got around to buying me temple clothing.

Explaining the Mormon church to nevermos always makes it sound worse.

I was explaining to my bf that Mormons will never think I’m happy that I’m out of the church because they believe that only Mormons have true happiness. He was doubtful, so I showed him the hundreds of GC talks. (1/0)

I found out on Saturday that a man I knew went on a mission to Tonga and sexually abused young boys, one as young as 8. He didn’t stop there, he returned after his mission, got a job at a school, and continued to SA these boys after grooming and manipulating them with gifts.

Exmos, in your experience, is passive aggressiveness a part of Mormon culture?

I’ve met two different exmormon’s recently that said their reason for leaving the church was because they had daughters and couldn’t imagine them growing up in the church.

I’m so proud of them for doing what’s best for their daughters.

Here’s my problem with a principle of faith I see people try use in arguments. If something doesn’t make sense, people will use faith to bridge the inconsistency with reality. Like a cop out.

I’ve delved into some Catholic apologetics because I found them to be fascinating. They also use this tactic, saying that the reason for the inconsistencies in the New Testamemt is bc people’s faulty memories.

So to them, why should we trust people’s faulty memories to base our salvation on?
A popular Mormon apologetic to Joseph Smith having five different versions of the First Vision is that people don’t always remember things right.

If that’s their apologetic, then why should we trust the faulty memory of a 14 year old that the first vision happened at all?

I don’t know a lot of evangelicals that have left their faith. However, the ones I have met and shared their story seem to share commonalities with me leaving my faith.

When I’ve shared this w/them, they seem to dislike that, like it’s not a good thing even in leaving to be involved in Mormonism.

An excellent example of how prayers don’t work.

One thing that these new garment changes prove is that Mormon women have never loved the old garment style, even when they insisted to me that they did.

Nothing to see here. Just the Thoughtful Saints group posting about gay marriage will be overturned.

Elon Musk is acting like Mormon polygamists, yet is being praised for it by the same people who criticize Mormon polygamy

A nevermo asked me if Mormon polygamists called their wives a harem…

I saw a TBM share this on their Instagram story today. It made me think about how the church is a huge culprit in why Mormons have a hard time with emotional regulation. The reason? Constantly wondering if their feelings or thoughts come from the devil or the Holy Ghost.

Just learned about the Provo River Massacre where the Mormon Militia killed 40-100 Tipanogas people in 1850. They never mentioned it in the Utah History classes we were required to take in Jr High and High School. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_...

Please spread this info on this platform and other platforms if you can! Churches and clergy need to report abuse, or the victim can be stuck in their abusive situation.
Please spread the word about Washington HB 1211 Concerning the duty of clergy to report child abuse and neglect.

I do not see the point of baptisms and the gospel in Mormon theology.

You have to get baptized and complete the other covenants to get into the celestial kingdom. Other good people who didn’t get the chance can get baptized in the afterlife, if it was done by someone on Earth. 🧵

I hate hearing people say that people of natural disasters experience said disaster because it was a punishment from god.

I may not like lots of Evangelical things, but one thing I have discovered is that some Christian pop groups actually have some good songs.

A lot of my family has gotten sick with the stomach bug going around after the mini family reunion I had. Turns out it was a superspreader event.
