I did a walkthrough, here’s a timelapse. This is probably the biggest demo in D.C. so far post-inauguration, brought together by the 50501 Movement which originated on Reddit.

Everyone was chanting “fire Elon!” while I was filming this.

This. And holding as @profblmkelley.bsky.social noted, the federal workforce has a large amount of Black folks, one can see how the idea that "federal workforce is doing nothing and getting paid well to do so" is built on anti-blackness. Using racial capitalism allows our analysis to become sharper
People highlighting all the critical positions being cut are, of course, correct but I think it's missing the larger issue.

The idea that there is a large part of the federal workforce doing nothing and getting paid well to do so is a lie. It has always been a lie.

People in tech talk about the idea of a “10x programmer” — someone whose work is worth that of 10 others. I get the impression Musk etc think they can apply it all over the federal workforce but like… there’s no such thing as a 10x ATC navigational aid maintenance worker. Some jobs just need people.
Abruptly firing people who work in air traffic control is like murdering your own soldiers in the middle of a war.

Even if you think things now aren’t working as efficiently as they should there’s no clear path to recovering from this; it’s just a really extremely foolish and dangerous thing to do.
On the heels of multiple airplane disasters, including one less than a month ago that killed 67 people, and after years of warnings about our understaffed air traffic control system, Trump has begun firing hundreds of FAA air traffic control workers.

it’s the same as the USPS, as education, as healthcare, etc etc etc.
It's annoying how clearly this is going to play out.

They gut the FAA.
Therefore, the FAA can't do its job well because it was gutted.
Therefore, they say "The FAA sucks, we have to privatize it." which is what Project 2025 wants to do. They're manufacturing the crises for their end goal.

In response students write [REDACTED], their own anti-censorship play skewering the school district, sells out performances, and ultimately takes gold at the Lenaea High School Theatre Festival.

During the nazi regime, there was a common saying of "if only Hitler knew." The negative repercussions of his dictatorship were never his fault, and if he knew, he'd rectify it.

People will build elaborate fantasies to protect their cognitive dissonance and act out in weird ways.
It’s cute he thinks Trump would read this. And care if he did.

I'm not against going after waste in the government and the Pentagon is the biggest offender! Nearly $900 billion a year in spending and has never passed an audit.

I wonder if Elon Musk will take on the Military Industrial Complex or if he’s scared he’ll lose all those Pentagon contracts?
