Undergraduate research opportunities are incredibly valuable, both for the students and for the progress of the work. And having undergraduate research experience is a massive help for grad school admission. REU cancellations harm students’ preparedness & career prospects, and slow research progress

I would not be where I am today without my REU opportunity.
Something me and my neighbors in the heart of Altadena have been talking about since we first got a chance to catch our breath. I'm grateful for the reporters bringing this to light.
As the Eaton fire spread, many areas were notified of evacuation warnings and orders well in advance. In the heart of Altadena, where all 17 reported deaths occurred, evacuation orders came hours after fire did.
