Folklore, mystery plays, a horses skull and a knocking at the door. A great listen from Radio 4 on the Winster Guisers; a Derbyshire tradition in a village I know well and a performance I saw at the weekend. And my brother-in-law is one of the men interviewed.

Every couple of months I curate a list of things my colleagues have read, watched or listened to recently that deserve a wider audience.

Always an eclectic mix - this time we go from AI to the FBI, from tax policy to neuroplasticity - every one is worth your time.

Good morning at the London Ten. Great run, and at 47:12 I was only a minute slower than my 10km PB from 10 (!) years ago. Onwards with my half marathon PB plan.

Female content creators on YouTube received significantly more negative feedback for comparable content.

But the removal of public display of dislikes eliminated this gender gap and persistently increased female creator productivity and consumer demand.

First post - some work, important work at that.

Women are twice as likely to die at their male partner’s hands as from smoke or gas inhalation. Domestic abuse is a public emergency, but one that typically goes unseen.

Our new work for Women's Aid shows domestic abuse for the emergency it is.
