makes me think of that tumblr post too about how Fingon died in a similar manner to Fëanor & Maedhros a similar manner to Fingolfin & just !! the parallels harm me deeply
one of the many delicious flavors of the idea that maedhros is more like fingolfin than fëanor and fingon more like fëanor than his own father is both fëanor and fingolfin trying not to see their brother in their firstborn sons

Fanfiction etiquette is incredibly simple, actually. Don't like it, don't read it. No one is forcing you to, which is why it looks ridiculous to complain about it, especially if you were content warned. AO3 tags + "exclude" is one of the greatest reading tools ever. Use them properly and voila!
