If a country is truly wealthy, it can afford to be generous.

If it is truly brave, it will not fear outsiders.

If it is truly strong, it can shoulder larger burdens.

If it is truly wise, it will seek knowledge and education.

If it truly values freedom, it will welcome diversity.
I know it’s not Thanksgiving everywhere but I am thankful for my friends here. Even if I’m not often around. You know who you are and I love you. ❤️

I’m tired of being tired.

My dad died 2 weeks ago. From sepsis following spinal surgery. It’s been an ordeal to say the least.

All things considered, I was holding it together pretty well til I got an in stock notice for something I wanted to buy him for Xmas.

You never know where those flash-bangs are gonna come from.

My single person ACA plan in Georgia is going to be $1485 per month. It WAS $548 per month. 10k more per year.

It will be 37% of my take home pay.

They just really want people who aren’t as rich or crooked as they are to die, don’t they?

Prime example of white privilege in plain sight.

Black kids get called adults to justify blame, while white adults get called “kids” to excuse their hate. They’re not boys and girls, they’re grown-ass men and women, and the receipts are in writing.

There are some things about modern medicine that are miraculous.

There are others that become cruel choices that didn’t used to be made by an exhausted and grieving loved one, that now rest on their alternately hopeful and grieving shoulders.

long time employees that are good at their job shouldn't be paid less then new hires with no experience

but businesses in IT do it all the time

that has always felt very wrong.... an stupid to me

Return the damn shopping buggy/cart/trolley.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

My dad fell and broke his back a few weeks ago. I have been helping the folks at their house since his 7 fused vertebrae surgery and I am going to go insane listening to the garbage and lies coming from the nonstop Fox Not-News-They-Claim-In-Court.

Something the Mamdani win demonstrates is the extent to which the reigning cadre of ancient, establishment, centrist Dems think it’s more important to be on good terms with their GOP colleagues than it is to represent their own voters, and how thoroughly sick of this literally everyone is.

I have power.
I’ve had a shower.

Now, if I just had a functional & progressive democratic government.

Out of power for two days so far with no idea when it will come back on. I’m going to have to off-grid-modify my house & get a cistern of some sort going I think.

With a third panel up, the cherry tomatoes now have a home.
Can’t wait! Mmmmmmmmmm.

The first two of 38 deer fence panels are up. They’re 8x8 ft2. Man, I hope that’s tall enough.

Well, ONE worry vanished yesterday. My brother got a job offer. Then my boyfriend fainted out cold in the yard. He is okay. I am still not over it. Scariest damn thing I’ve ever seen as he had a heart attack last year.

I hadda tell somebody so that’s all of y’all.

I’m not destitute but I feel impoverished. Not homeless but I keep thinking about surviving without one. Not going hungry but I’m obsessed with my veggie garden & pantry. Is this how my grandparents felt ALL the time? They were great depression/WW era folks & I’m starting to act just like them.
