Been thinking on the use of GenAi for mood boards. Ethics and legal risks aside, I truly believe using GenAi as references deprives one of many pivotal things.

Here’s a blurb on what I mean:

The thing that gets me about this is that even if we wanted to make a positive AI ad, they never showcase AI being used to enhance someone’s day or improve their workflow. There’s no “it allows me to more easily do what I love.” It’s always presented as a failsafe for the dispassionate and incurious
Every ad for AI is like

Person: FUCK!! I don’t know what to get my loved one for Christmas!!!!!! I love them so much!!! Tell me what to do, AI!!

AI: get sock

Title Card: You are literally the smartest person for doing this

A #PudgyHorse tribute to the Lascaux cave paintings, painted with the Strata Trio watercolours made by @thoughtsupnorth.bsky.social from Cretaceous rocks from the Albertan badlands. From 2020.

Might as well post this one as it's been stolen and sold on Australian Temu. 🙃

Brother Gregor never spoke and often spooked the neophytes with his appearance, but he was a gentle soul and a phenomenal cook and knew more ways to prepare a fish than the abbot knew hymns

Inktober Day 30: Vacant.
(Or seemingly vacant).

Caves feel very empty, but many species inhibit it, even if they are not seen.

And even if a cave is truly empty, there is always the sense that something lives there, deep in the darkness...

Over the next few hours/days I'll be uploading lots of new #paleoart to Patreon. First up is this #Neanderthal fellow looking whimsically over his shoulder, wondering if he locked the door to his cave. Lots of discussion about his appearance and clothes at

Inktober Day 14: Trunk.

This can work with yesterday's prompt too.

I wonder if mammoth trunks were also very fluffy...? Possibly?

Also, isn't it cool that a trunk acts like both an arm and a nose?
Imagine you reach out for an orange and you are smelling it at the same time. Very cool.

Inktober Day 11: Sting.

Red ochre is used by people as a sunscreen and insect repellant.

Remnants of red ochre paste have been found in Neanderthal sites as well. Were they used for the same purpose?
I'm sure they didn't want pesky insect bites too!

Junar has one surviving sister, Jaya. There are two deceased siblings between them.
This created an age gap, but they are still very close. ❤️ They have a strong bond.
Junar's journey is motivated by her. Their relationship is the core of the story.

Inktober Day 9: Heavy

After a mammoth is taken down... How is it transported? Must be a very arduous task. They'd have to divide it into manageable pieces and carry it towards their headquarters.

I used a new brush pen. Sakura Pigma Brush. I'm still rusty with it. I need more practice!

New #paleoart posted to #Patreon: woolly mammoths around a duck-filled lake. Accompanying the hi-res and WIPs of this image is a discussion about mammoth colour: the uniform red-brown mammoths of classic palaeoart seem unlikely now. Check it out at www.patreon.com/posts/night-...
