Yes. Celine Haidar is out of coma. She is conscious and quickly recovering.

When her friends/family talk to her, she is able to react with simple moves. But, she is yet to talk or move.

As for the crowdfunding, her family isn't in need of anything atm.

Lebanon secured a spot in the upcoming FIBA Asia Cup scheduled in the summer of 2025 in Jeddah.

Céline Haidar, the 19-year-old Lebanon international, was hit by shrapnel following an Israeli airstrike. She’s in an induced coma.
Many are asking @fifacom.bsky.social and @uefacom.bsky.social to act. They are yet to respond to my request for comment.

In response to the story of Celine Haidar, there are renewed calls for FIFA to impose sporting sanctions on Israel.

As we reported, a legal bid from PFA was made in March. Fifa “are making themselves ridiculous” by continuous stalling on a decision.

It took FIFA 5 seconds to suspend Russia after the 2nd invasion of Ukraine, and yet Israel is still a member.

In addition to maiming or murdering *multiple* Palestinian footballers over the years, they just put Celine Haidar, a 19yo player for the Lebanon woman's team, in a coma after a strike.

I’m a PhD candidate, former footballer and sports journalist (in the making😁!).

My PhD thesis studies how the socio-cultural factors influence the construction of the careers of youth female footballers, both in Lebanon & France.

The silence on this is wretched. Every single player and national team should be asking about this and demanding answers from FIFA and UEFA.
