A very large part of the US does not vote based on policy, or character, or anything logical. They vote based on a vague kind of sympathetic magic. If the candidate *seems* to symbolize or be associated with some quality, then these voters choose them because they want that quality in their life.

Here's what I know about botany. Every kind of fruit is a berry, except most of the ones with "berry" in the name. Blueberries are berries, but strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, mulberries, etc are not. Why are botanists like this?
