Republicans haven't tried to pass a law yet. All we are seeing are confirmation hearings, which only go to the Senate. As I understand, Senate rules as of 2013 say a simple majority of 51 can stop debate and force vote on these, so filibuster doesn't apply.

They can beat Republicans if they get a majority in both houses and the presidency. The last time this happened was 2008-2010, and that's how we got the ACA.

Yes, but what built environment were they starting with? Look at the FAR, setbacks, street width, street pattern, block size. Most US cities have 1 or 2 short stretches of street that could be so easily converted, the rest would have to be torn up and all infrastructure built again from scratch.

I feel like the problem with branding is it gives the opposition the chance to misinterpret it. The people in my city fall into two types: intelligent people who don't need a cute brand name to understand the issues, and know-nothing nimbys who will weaponize your brand against you.
