Around 50% of adults in America cannot read at an 8th-grade level. Averages can be misleading and especially after 🦠 reading rates are significantly declining. I understand why you’d say 🦋 is a millennial TT refugee camp tbh, maybe camp for all the readers of TT is more accurate?
In the these free United States why would we criticize how someone wants to spend their downtime whether reading or looking at pretty pictures and videos. Many went to Little Red Book out of spite. The avg US citizen reads at 7th- to 8th-grade level. So, if you suck at reading maybe u want pics.

I agree, now we all have this new hurdle of organizing without TT, after years of it having a budding impact on consumerism and grassroots activism. Despite the general disappointment, I’m excited to see how creative we become in the next few years.
I actually think banning 170 million Americans from an app might bring us together.

Filming kids’ lives for content isn’t new. YouTube vlogs & reality TV did this way before TikTok. The real issue is capitalism pushing people to commodify private life for survival. TikTok like other platforms just normalizes it for everyday people, making kids grow up in a culture of surveillance
