The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Interesting. I think the Liberal caucus is genuinely happy. They've been unsure if their budget would pass, & this is a step closer and happy to be chosen by him. It's interesting to see how open & spontaneous a culture that they seem to have. #CndPoli
Welcome to the team, Chris. This is an important moment for our country.

The screen does not have rainbow 🌈 colours. It's kind of neat that my cell camera decided that that was fitting. 😊😎
1/ After having most of my political volunteering been in provincial and federal politics the past eight months have been filled with a lot of time spent on municipal politics so I thought that it would be nice to further it by watching Calgary council in action & electing councilors to committees.

1 thing that I meant to share related to Calgary City council was that it was really great to see the closed captioning voice to text under 2 screens to include deaf and hard of hearing & online regarding Calgary council chamber wheel chair accessible messaging. &lots of fresh air #YycCc #EDI #JEDIB

I think the most revealing moment is when the former UCP press secretary admits that the UCP would rather throw Lukaszuk’s question to the people and risk their economy and Alberta’s place in Canada than their political careers.

This is extremely troubling. The UCP are becoming increasingly authoritarian. They are dumping Doug Wylie, likely because he intervened, in the public interest, in the AHS CEO lawsuit. edmontonjournal.com/news/politic...

NDP MLA David Shepherd held very little back as the UCP effectively fired the Auditor General in committee today…

Including highlighting that for a government under suspicion of covering up massive scandals, this only makes things look worse.

Cuts to SNAP have been a mask-off moment for some religious people in my extended network. People I thought shared a common belief about serving the poor without judgement even if our how-to ideas differed. I'm supposed to be cynical and cranky at 50 but cannot stomach some of their words this week.
