They recovered over 180 bullet shells at the CDC. Debris from shattered glass is still being cleaned up. I am completely stunned at how quickly the news cycle has moved on. This was an act of terrorism targeting public health experts, and the response seems to be a collective shrug.

The recently passed “One Big, Beautiful Bill” is dangerous and shortsighted.

My latest op-ed in the @thebulletin.org outlines how — by gutting crucial programs like Medicaid — this legislation makes Americans more vulnerable to the next pandemic.

Vaccines have saved an estimated 154 million lives over the past 50 years. They remain one of our most powerful tools to prevent pandemics and protect communities.

At a time when global health institutions face growing threats, this legacy must be defended.

#VaccinesWork #GlobalHealthSecurity
Vaccines are vital to pandemic preparedness and saving lives. Disinformation and funding cuts to key global health initiatives threaten progress and deepen inequalities.

We must act now to restore trust and invest in equitable vaccine access for all.

Elon Musk said DOGE made a mistake by cutting USAID’s Ebola prevention but it had been “restored.”

That’s not true, current and former officials told me and @johnphudson.bsky.social.

“There have been no efforts to ‘turn on’” Ebola prevention, said Nidhi Bouri, who oversaw team until January.
Musk claims DOGE ‘restored’ Ebola prevention effort. Officials disagree.
USAID’s initiatives to fight Ebola and other diseases have been gutted, current and former agency officials said.
