Can we make 3D human tissues better in space? 🚀

On our 6th space project launching next week, we will examine if microgravity aids in the production of 3D heart and brain organoids from pluripotent stem cells.

Incredible work! A study years in the making published in Nature. I’ve been waiting for this one.

Engineered heart muscle patches from iPSC improve cardiac function in non-human primates…and are stable/show evidence for remuscularization in a human patient! Wow! ❤️

Hey Bluesky 🦋! I am a stem cell biologist at Cedars-Sinai. My lab uses stem cell-derived heart tissues for studying drug toxicity and modeling heart defects. We also send experiments to space to study how microgravity impacts cell biology.
