Hunter Biden had two words for Melania Trump's threat to sue him for repeating that she met Trump through Jeffrey Epstein: "PLEASE DO.”

Yes, please do, discovery will not be in Melania's favor.

U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton is Trump’s enforcer in New York. He’s taking on the bogus investigation of Clinton and others, corruptly ordered by Trump. Yet the NY Times says Clayton “enjoys a reputation in NY legal circles as a widely respected lawyer.” Which says something about NY legal circles.

No. No. No. Waking up to the devastating news that Alice Wong has passed. I have no words yet, except to say that Alice was a powerful force for good in the world & I loved her. I posted the below just before her passing.
Tapping the sign: "Staying alive is a lot of work for a disabled person in an ableist society."—Alice Wong in the Introduction to Disability Visibility
I find myself increasingly wondering how able bodied people appear to believe that being disabled is"easy."
Getting accommodations in school, uni and/or work: easy, a breeze, even!
Getting a doctor to write you a certificate supporting your needs: EASY!
Working from home: EASY!

This is painful to read. She was a hilarious, sharp, brilliant, courageous person. She changed the way I thought about disability and power. What a grave loss.

The message on IG from Alice (posted by her friend Sandy Ho). As always, Alice blazes a path for the rest of us, fearlessly & with humor: "I'm honored to be your ancestor & believe disabled oracles like us will light the way to the future. Don't let the bastards grind you down. I love you all."

“With so many marginalized communities, we’re basically the oracles…we’re the ones who see shit before it happens.” In June 2020, I interviewed Alice Wong for TVU before she lost her ability to speak. I asked her how she’d first learned of SARS-CoV-2. She began with the 2016 election of Trump:

This is what I’ve been saying for months: Dems should be making a list and checking it twice for when they regain control of Congress at the mid-term and set to methodically impeaching and removing every officer who engaged in open corruption.
I will say it again; the Democrats need openly create a list of civil servants called the Dirty Dozen that will be subject to impeachment in 2026, The Constitution provides that “… all civil Officers of the United States” are subject to removal from office upon impeachment.”

The openness of the corruption really is the crazy-making part.

Trump: *directs AG to indict his political enemies*

Sane people: “holy shit that’s obviously super corrupt.”

MAGA: “no it isn’t”

NYT headline: “AG signals willingness to violate norms”

Our beloved Alice Wong has joined the ancestors. It was one of the great honors of my life to call Alice my friend, co-author & co-conspirator. She was a true genius, a force of nature the likes of which the world has never seen before. I love you, Alice, and am equal parts grateful and devastated

My oldest granddaughter is 14 and a freshman. She’s a JV cheerleader, a girl with her first “guy friend” she hangs out with who is 14. Just went to homecoming with her gal pals.

She is a child not a play toy for adult men. So people who think like (traitor to girls and women) Megyn Kelly SUCK.

In normal times, it would be a major scandal for the President to direct his AG to criminally investigate his political opponents to deflect from his own involvement in a major scandal — and for the AG to immediately announce she is doing it. The Epstein scandal and cover up just got even bigger.

Greg Sargent is one of the clearest thinkers on Trump's ongoing construction of a dictatorship. Everyone who cares about defending democracy and decency should give him a Bluesky follow, read his New Republic writings and listen to his podcast. Highly recommended.
Trump's illegal murders in the Caribbean just got worse. An internal DOJ memo on the bombings says the victims are waging war on the US, but per NYT, it extensively cites the WH's *own claims* to this effect as evidence!

It gets even darker than that. 1/

Devastating piece on the human toll of Kavanaugh Stops.

Especially infuriating to know that rich white guys like Brett K can simply close their eyes to the human suffering their racist jurisprudence has unleashed.

Remember: The richest 1% evade over $160 billion in taxes every year.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Ask yourself who the real freeloaders are.
