Nope. That was a bonus. He looked at the #s. Saw Pence was their hero and knew he needed both the deplorable& Evangelicals. He made Pence his VP and Pence spent all his time convincing Evangelicals to go for Trump to get SCOTUS locked down. Unfortunately for Pence they picked Trump in the divorce.
