“What have you done today, Ariel?”

Thanks for asking. I’ve spent several hours ranking movies by “overall textural impression.”

‘Death remains my intimate shadow partner. It has been with me since birth, always hovering close by. I understand one day we will finally waltz together into the ether. I hope when that time comes, I die with the satisfaction of a life well-lived, unapologetic, joyful, & full of love.’

The incredible, indomitable, inspirational Alice Wong has left us.

I'm so grateful to have known her on social media, and so grateful for all the words she shared with us and all the actions she encouraged us into making.

May we live up to her example.

This movie was honestly so good. I remember there was buzz when it first released, but that had everything you could want from an action movie and more.
I’m also watching G20 on my sick day, because who doesn’t love an action movie when you’re poorly? And I know I’m not right currently because I got teary when Anthony Anderson attacked a bad guy to save his kids.

One of the worst things about being sick with a dry cough is the persistent sickly sweet taste and feel that cough drops and tea with honey leave in your mouth. Bleh. Happy to not be congested or sneezy, but sometimes the treatment is worse than the illness.

The Democrats' election plan, as always, is to point at the Bad Man and say he's bad. But this is the time to talk about how this oligarchic political and economic system allowed this kind of person to take power in the first place, and how it should be changed. No appetite for that

This morning my 6th grader said, “I love you, too,” and my 3rd grader willingly listened to a song I wanted to play for them with curiosity and an open mind. I don’t know wtf is going on, but I like it.

Either @schumer.senate.gov had his hand in this, or he was incapable of stopping it. He should step down as leader immediately. In the meantime I will only donate to @workingfamilies.org or @demsocialists.bsky.social. The Democratic Party has no spine.

My dog trying to convince me that if I take him on my run this time he definitely won’t lunge at every other dog or stop constantly to mark territory.

All it took to bring me down from yesterday’s high was finding out how much some testing my doctor has ordered will cost me. ‘Murrica.

Not enough people were handing out butterfingers this year for me to be able to steal them from my children without them noticing, and honestly I’m pissed.

As well as building distance has been going, I’ve been sort of dreading crossing the five mile threshold today. It wasn’t so different from running 4.7 two weeks ago, though. Gotta figure out some booty pain, but nothing I can’t handle/successfully ignore until it gets worse.

After years of neighborhood hullabaloo, I had my first encounter with an LA coyote on my run this morning. Poor thing had a bad front leg and was limping. They’re a breath away from being our pets, I just wanted to take it home, tuck it into a soft bed, and feed it kibble. The crow is a paid actor.

I get these fact-checks re tylenol/Autism lawsuit but what is very much needed is messaging of "If you think your kids' autism diagnosis is that devastating, please seek help before your child feels the effect of your anti-autism views."

I have a TikTok song stuck in my head, but I can’t remember enough to find it.

It starts: “<non-english word> hello! It’s <year>” then goes on to describe all of the horrors of a dystopian future in a cheerful tour-guide kind of voice. The backing music has a video game quality to it.

Any ideas?
