Hello! 👋🏻 I’m an environmental archaeologist who studies the many ways people have successfully adapted to life in drylands over the last 10000 years. I specialize in the analysis of plant remains, fuel resources and subsistence strategies using paleoethnobotany. My research is mostly in 🇴🇲 🇮🇶 and 🇹🇷 🏺
Nearly finished with the 2025 field campaign at Gird-i Surezha. Lots of excellent sample collection this year

Our first results from excavations at Qach Rresh in Iraqi Kurdistan are published! QR is a site founded in the rural core of the Assyria at the empire's height (c. 700 BCE). It was likely used for administering rural production.
