I’d really love to bring in more papers by students and early career researchers, especially from Iraq! ASOR has some funding opportunities to support this, including the Tigris Travel grant for Iraqi scholars. Online presentations are especially welcome!

We found evidence for digging and soil development associated with Building VII, dated to the Um an-Nar Period. These results suggest gardening activities in the area, however preservation conditions at the site were not conducive to recovering sufficient paleobotanical evidence to confirm this.
